  In times of crisis, like the devastating fires in Maui, our Good Neighbor Pharmacy pharmacists step up. Dr. Cory Lehano, native Hawaiian and the owner of Mauliola Pharmacy has stepped up for his community, mobilizing all of his store’s resources and staff to provide critical care services and necessary medications to fire victims at no cost. To date, Dr. Lehano has set up three makeshift pharmacies in the affected area and distributed over 2,100 medications, waiving all copay fees. He and his team have transported medications and supplies by van, bike and even foot, dispensing prescriptions and providing burn care and other first aid services.

  In the wake of the tragic fires in Maui, the AmerisourceBergen Foundation is partnering with the Maui Strong Fund at the Hawaii Community Foundation, which provides disaster response and recovery resources. We are also providing financial assistance to Healthcare Ready, which is partnering with local organizations, including the Hawai'i VOAD to coordinate the public health and medical response. Our partnership with Healthcare Ready also fuels RX Open, which provides information on the operating status of healthcare facilities in areas impacted by disaster. Additionally, all team member donations to the Maui Strong Fund will be matched 2:1 through September 15th.
