Fibre is a thread or filament-like substance which are a natural or synthetic (man-made) substance which we extract from plants or animals body. • Wool: We can get wools from sheep, yak, goat, camel, llama, and some other animals. For obtaining wools, we need to rear the animals and then cut their hair and process into wool. Different breeds of wool yielding animals are found in the different parts of our country.
• Silk: We obtain Silk from the cocoon of the silkworm. The silkworm spins the ‘silk fibre’. Then we need to separate the cocoons from them and reel into silk threads. We later need to weave into silk cloth. This full process of rearing silkworm to obtain silk is called sericulture.
